Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) Qualifications
In order to be admitted to the examination for nurses, an applicant must, at the time of filing his or her application, establish to the satisfaction of the Board of Nursing that:
a. He or she is a citizen of the Philippines, or a citizen or subject of a country which permits Filipino nurses to practice within its territorial limits on the same basis as the subject or citizen of such country: Provided, That the requirements for the registration or licensing or nurses in said country are substantially the same as those prescribed in this Act;
b. He or she is at least eighteen (18) years of age: Provided, that any underage applicant who successfully passes the examination shall not be permitted or licensed to practice nursing until he or she shall have reached the age of majority;
c. He or she is in good health and is of good moral character; and
d. He or she is a holder of a bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) from a college or university duly recognized by the proper government agency.

Thanks for your information on NLE Qualifications. I am a Kenyan and have my kids doing well in Nursing at AUP. Can they be allowed to register for NLE Phillippines? How do I know if Kenya is one of those countries that permits Philippine Nurses to practice? I want my children to do Philippine NLE. I see so may Philippino practicing in hospitals in Kenya. @robert – I am not sure about this but I highly doubt that a board passer can take the same board exam again.
hi pwede po magtanung kasi board passer din po ako pero,nuon june 2006, nagretake ako ng 2subj.but failed. merun po akong valid license but my main problem is hindi honored ng canada. pwde ko po ba ipa revoke ang license and take anothe nle?thanks

Do NCLEX passers need to take the Philippine nursing board exam to practice in the Philippines?
@Andrew – yes you would need to take the Philippine Nursing Board Exam (NLE) to be able to practice here. It is stated in the Philippine Law (R.A. 9173 Article IV Section 12) that:
my daughter will finish nursing in the Philippines and she has a green card.Is she required to take and pass the nursing board exam in the Philippines before she take the CGFNS here in NJ, USA

@kaka – what do you mean what? It’s not so much of being entitled too. It’s a conditional process wherein an examinee may pass or fail the NLE. In case you already have forgotten R.A. 9173 “Philippine Nursing Act of 2002″:

@anne – you have to personally apply to the PRC to be able to sit for the NLE. PRC doesn’t have an online application.

hello.. My sister failed the NLE last december. We’re hoping that she got 75% average but failed a subject thats why she did not passed.. then she’s qualified to take only the subject she failed.. How can we know her exam results? i mean the detailed one? (sorry.i don’t know what it is called)

hi…how true po ang narinig qng sabi ng friend q na a retaker must take examination within 2 years from the time of his/her last examination or else they need to resubmit the requirements for taking the NLE as CASES etc?

Nag exam po ako last july2010 NLE but unfortunately, I failed. Ng makuha ko ang board results, 1 test lang ako nagfail sa test.ung 4 pasado na.
Diba pwedeng un nalang examan ko?
