Founded on September 2, 1922 as Filipino Nurses Association (FNA) in a meeting of 150 nurses presided by then Anastacia Giron Tupas (Mrs. Tupas), the FNA was incorporated in 1924. The International Council of Nurses accepted the FNA as one of the member organizations during the Congress held in Montreal, Canada on July 8-13, 1929. The FNA became the PNA (Philippine Nurses Association) in 1966, which was the same year that the office at 1663 F.T. Benitez Street, Malate, Manila was inaugurated.
The PNA is the only accredited professional organization recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Registered Nurses are mandated by Republic Act 9173 (Philippine Nursing Act of 2002) to be a member of the PNA to be able to practice their profession in the Philippines.
Membership Fee: PhP 400 (valid for 1 year)

How to go the PNA office:
Option 1. Take the LRT Line 1 (North Avenue – Baclaran route) -
- Get off at Pedro Gil station. (Cross the street if coming from North Avenue to Baclaran direction)
- You will see a Petron gas station and you can walk it from there
- After the Petron gas station is F. Benitez St.
- Turn RIGHT and you will see the Iglesia ni Cristo church
- Next to the Iglesia ni Cristo church is the PNA building. It can’t be missed as they have a sign that says: “Pambansang Samahan ng Mga Nurse ng Pilipinas“.
Option 2. From Makati or Guadalupe area -
- Take the Guadalupe-Tulay–Paco jeeps and you can get off directly at F. Benitez St. Landmark is the Petron gas station.
- Take Tamaraw FX taxi’s going to Robinson’s Place mall in Manila. Get off at Pedro Gil St. and follow the instructions in Option 1.

I am a staff nurse here in Dumaguete City. I have been working in a tertiary hospital since 2007. Like other nurses, I am aspiring to work abroad in order to seek greener pasture and career growth. In connection with this, I was interviewed last July by my employer in Qatar. Luckily , I was hired and processed my documents after signing the offer letter. I waited for 3-5 months and last October I was informed by my agency that my application was cancelled. I was shocked because and asked my employer why I was cancelled. They said I only graduated 3 years in Nursing and that I was under the AHSE curriculum. My tears fell and I was so sad.I was not accepted beacuse of the mandatory curriculum approved by CHED. I mean was the old nursing curriculum better than AHSE?Does AHSE produce incompetent nursing graduates?What’s the difference of AHSE and the old curriculum? I want to pursue my career in Qatar and I hope you could enlighten me with what I should do. Thanks

hi!just want to informed the philippines nurses association na dumadami na ang mga nurse sa east avenue qc(dr,nicu dept) na walang puso,respeto at walang pakialam sa mga pasyente at relatives nito.i think madami na rin ang ngrereklamo sa mga nurses dun.sana mabigyan nyo ng pansin to.dahil kawawa naman ang pasyente dun.wala na ngang pera.tinatrato pang hayop ng mga nurses na nangako na magbibigay ng care sa mga pasyente nila.sana kung hindi nila kaya ang stress sa trabaho nila, hindi na sila nangako na mgsisilbi sa hospital.wala silang bukang bibig sa mga pasyente nila kung hindi “wag ka ng umarte,wala ka naman pera”pls have action..nakakaawa tlga ang mga pasyente dun..

You are talking about nurses in East Avenue, but you failed to be more specific with your complaints. A piece of advice, get the name of nurse(s) you are referring with and make a formal written complaint letter address to the Chief Nurse they will deal with your complaints im sure. It will never be beneficial to nurses working in that that institution devotedly because of the irresponsible comment you posted, not all of them are the same. Furthermore, be specific and responsible with your comments

where the world you can find a schedule that is 5 in the afternoon and 1 in early morning 5pm-1 am shifts then the next shifts to 1:oo am(yes this is early morning ) to 9 am .tey said authority approved this.

sa palagay ko wla nmang violation ang institution.as long as na hindi mag exceed sa 8 hours duty per day with 1 day off per week or with the total of 48 hours per week.pls review your contract signed..ang duty hours kc eh nasa institution nyo ang restriction.

Hingi po sana ako ng tulong. Registered Nurse po ako and may experience na rin po maging STAFF NURSE sa province namin for two years. Pumunta po ako dito sa Manila at nahirapan po ako mag apply sa mga hospital kaya po naghanap po ako ng ibang work. Naging Office staff po ako sa isang company for 1 year. and now gusto ko na po mag work sa Hospital kaso natatakot ako irefuse dahil tagal ko po na stop sa pagiging NURSE. Kaya po Balak ko po mag attend ng Seminar and training para ma enhance po uli yung knowledge and skills ko. Salamat po and sana po matulungan nyo po ako.
I suggest you attend seminars/workshops, build your profile by piling up your seminars etc.
I am an RN here in Canada and I’ve seen the frustrations of nursing graduates in the Philippines who could not find jobs, some can’t even get in to volunteer in hospitals, among them is my nephew…
So I thought to organize workshops and invited an International speaker for next year, planning to have them in Manila, Baguio and Cebu. My promotional will be thru universities, colleges and hospitals. We’re looking at early next year for our first event. Hope to see you there and invite colleagues.
