Critical Care Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CCNAPI)
The Critical Care Nurses Association of the Philippines (CCNAPI) is a duly-recognized (accredited) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) provider by the Professional Regulation Commission – Board of Nursing (PRC-BON) and specialty organization of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA).

Vision:
By the year 2010, the Critical Care Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. shall be recognized as the authority in the field of critical care nursing in the country as demonstrated by the proficiency of its members in critical care nursing practice. They will show the dedication in upgrading critical care nursing practice by responding with compassion to the needs of their clientele. CCNAPI shall be the epitome of utmost standards in critical care nursing.
Mission:
- the promotion and protection of man’s health and welfare for national development;
- the support of the professional and personal growth and development of its members; and
- the ideals of service to the people, for equality, justice and social progress
CCNAPI Membership:
A Registered Nurse can be a member of CCNAPI if:
- currently working, with at least 3 months experience in the Critical Care Unit or MS Ward, certified by the immediate supervisor; OR
- with at least 20 Credit Education Units earned from attending CCNAPI seminars of the current year.
CCNAPI Membership Requirements:
- Certificate of Employment, signed by immediate supervisor (photocopy; for those who are currently working only)
- CCNAPI certificates with at least 20 Credit Education Units (original copies; for those who are not currently working)
- Current PRC License card
- Current PNA ID Membership card
- 1×1 or 2×2 picture
- Membership Fee: PhP 300
- Filled-out CCNAPI Membership Application Form
CCNAPI Membership Purposes:
- To promote and protect the health and welfare of man through the science and art of critical care nursing.
- To formulate, develop strategies and implement standards of critical care nursing practice
- To provide expertise/assistance to various hospitals in establishing critical care units
- To update knowledge/skills in critical care nursing through involvement in continuous staff development programs and activities and giving assistance in the development of staff development programs of related associations,
- To participate in the formulation of curriculum towards critical care nursing specialization.
- To encourage, participate, undertake, give assistance to research studies relevant to critical care nursing
- To participate in various international program
CCNAPI Member’s Duties and Responsibilities:
- To obey and comply with the by-laws, rules and regulation that may be promulgated by the association
- To attend meetings of the association.
- To pay membership dues and other assessment of the association
CCNAPI Member’s Benefits:
- Discounted rates to continuing education programs
- Access to facilities such as journal in the website (where CCNAPI Membership Number is needed to be able to access)
Notes:
1. Membership is valid for 1 year.
2. The requirements for renewal of membership are just the same as applying to be a member for the first-time except for the old CCNAPI membership ID, which is presented during renewal of membership.
3. Penalty fees for months lapsed of membership renewal:
- 1-3 months = PhP 50
- 4-6 months = PhP 100
- 7-9 months = PhP 150

@mimiSN – it depends on what seminar you will attend. There are seminars that are open for student nurses and there are some that are for RNs only.
im rn now…can i attend the seminars even if im not working in a hospital…..

@camzRN – I am not sure if CCNAPI would accept volunteering as clinical experience. Best thing to do is call them up to verify this. Good luck to you.

@Yassy RN – depends on who will evaluate your resume. Some consider it as an experience, some don’t.
maam, for da critical care nursing seminar accreditation, for how long ang course, is it 5 weeks or months? i mean da training.
