Woohoo! RN na ako! Ano na?
“Woohoo! RN na ako! Ano na?” — an unofficial, supposed step-by-step instructions and a “follow-at-your-own-risk” guide for new RNs who don’t know what to do after passing the NLE (December 2010 Nursing Board Exam Successful Examinees edition).
To reiterate, this is UNOFFICIAL, UNOFFICIAL, UNOFFICIAL. The PRC, PNA, BON, CHED, DepEd, DOLE, DOH, DFA, CIA, FBI or any other government agency has nothing to do with this. Everything that you will read below is purely based on past experiences of fellow RNs. Including me.
Tandaan: Huwag sundin kung ayaw mo. Huwag basahin kung ayaw mo. In fact, close mo na ang browser. Seryoso. Huwag mo ng basahin. Still there? Ok sige, walang sisihan, wala akong kasalanan. Rakenrol. Ito na:
Step 1. Intay ng result after 42 working days. “Yaay pasado ako!!!”
Step 2.
Step 3. Celebration. “Yaay talagang pasado ako!!!” Tugs, tugs, tugs. So magpapa-katay na ng baboy, baka, manok, kalabaw or aso. Gagawan ka na ng banner, malaking tarpaulin o di kaya makeshift na signboard sa tapat ng bahay niyo na nakalagay, “Congratulations (insert your name here)!!! You make us proud. We love you!!!”
Step 4.
NO. 9173 “Philippine Nursing Act of 2002″ Sec. 16: http://www.philippinenursingdirectory.com/ra-9173-philippine-nursing-act-of-2002/
Step 5.
- NOA Form (Notice of Admission Form).
Nightingale Pledge. Clap clap. Picture picture ulit. Kainan na. More pictures. As in wala.
Step 7.
PWEDENG mag-register sa PRC AFTER the schedule na binigay nila.
PRC Initial Registration Schedule of December 2010 Nursing Board Exam Successful Examinees (Cebu)
PRC Initial Registration Schedule of December 2010 Nursing Board Exam Successful Examinees (Dagupan)
Step 9. Kunin ang Professional License Card at Certificate of Registration/Board Certificate sa PRC.
Step 10. Yun na yun. That’s it pansit. Good luck!!!
Admin Note: The instructions may seem OBVIOUS, REDUNDANT and OVERLY-EXPLAINED but only because of the nature of QUESTIONS that was thrown at me by previous nursing board exam successful examinees. This compilation is based on those questions and was made for the purpose of making it easier for me to answer queries in this website. Many thanks to janggo, squeegee, fei and RNdrei.

@PampangoRN – prioritize your registration but if you can make it before lunch at OSHC, then it’s all good. expect PRC to operate on regular office hours.
Slamat ms r0na…nkpakalaking tulong ny0 s mga new nurses..thanks.
Last questi0n n lng po.,.Kc kung d aq pmunta ng pna s oras n nkasched aq.,ok lng po b un?,kc unahin q nlng po sna ung registrati0n q s prc..,,,,
@PampangoRN – it’s best that you call PNA and explain your situation as to why you can’t come in your scheduled time. Or, you can also just tell them that when you get there to buy your tickets.
@PampangoRN – thank you too and congratulations.
hi mam rona..gud day ask q lng po wat tym kya nagsstart ung reg sa OSHC?ty so much
@nico – consider them to operate on regular office hours but it’s better to be there early.
mam rona, need bang ipanotaryo ang oathform?
@mike – go to the link above that says, “INSTRUCTIONS, REQUIREMENTS at MAGKANO ang BABAYARAN sa araw ng INITIAL REGISTRATION”
Maam Rona,For Diane,
Tama si Maam Rona, kahit anong taon. I passd d board year’95 and nagpregister ako 2007 lng kc nagwork ako sa mission. Nashock ang mga taga PRC. I was afraid then I thought di ko na maggmit but thanks God.Nkpgrenew na ulit ako, although ako nmn ang nashock sa changes ng sistema dahil gusto ko mkexperience ng hospital setting this time.Don’t worry
@Alain RN – what is it that you want to accomplish? If you want to take an oath, you can do so before the Philippine Consul.
@Jaja – I wouldn’t know.

@nico – ask about it during your registration day.
@RN NA WOOOO – what you wore during capping ang pinning?
Mam rona, i lost my noa due to theft. I understand na pwede parin ako mag oath but the rest of the registration. magiging rn parin ba ako?
@RN Narin – you passed the board exam, dearie. merely losing your NOA won’t change your board status. Read Section 19 of the 2002 Philippine Nursing Act: http://www.philippinenursingdirectory.com/ra-9173-philippine-nursing-act-of-2002/
@Migz – there will be a guide at the PRC. you won’t find it hard to finish your registration since you already have those documents that you mentioned. tanong-tanong ka na lang doon. get well soon!
@brunoRN – usually, you are supposed to register where you filed to take the board exam since your documents are in the PRC office.
May mapa doon for the venue (OSHC).
Please stop worrying about it. It really is NOT THAT BIG A DEAL if you did not attend the oath-taking ceremony at the SMX most especially if you do not have the budget to do so.
mam rona what if certificate of board passing lng nrequest q ..ndi q nsma ung cert for board passing..pde pdin po bq mgrequest?
@pauRN – certificate of board passing and certificate FOR board passing?
she’s in aklan and dito kami nagtake sa Cagayan de Oro, ask po sana ako if pwede na imail nlang nya ung iabng papers and power of attorney nlang?
medyo magastos po kasi sa fair if pupunta pa sya dito for filing lang and babalik din ng aklan for oath taking
@jastene – according to PRC (http://www.philippinenursingdirectory.com/2011/02/20/prc-initial-registration-instructions-for-december-2010-nursing-board-exam-passers/),
@neng – call PNA to inquire if they would sell you tickets on any other day aside from what is written in your priority slip.
@Jerome, RN – ideally, you will have to take an oath before registering.

good eve miss rona. i took the eaxm at tac tapos ung initial registration was at feb 24. sobrang late na po ako and then anditi po ako samnila. is it possible na dito n lng ako mag register sa PRC manila sabay ko this march 10?
@anne G. – usually, you are supposed to register where you filed to take the board exam because your documents are in the PRC office.
@chari – Better bring your documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.) when you register and inquire from PRC themselves what you should use.
go to the link in step 4, last bullet: REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9173 “Philippine Nursing Act of 2002″ Sec. 16.
tsaka pwede po ang late registration right?
Read step 7.
@elang – call PRC to inquire re your NOA and/or PNA to verify if you could get tickets without the NOA and just the other requirements.
mam rona, ask ko lang po, panu kaya pumunta sa occupational safety health center, north avenue cor. agham road diliman quezon city pag thru lrt or mrt?
@xan – may mapa sa post entitled, “PRC Initial Registration Schedule of December 2010 Nursing Board Exam Successful Examinees (Metro Manila and Pampanga)”.
helo po mam rona! ^^, ask lang ko pwede ba magregister sa Prc after the specified dates?
i mean not acdg sa scheduled names.
@enzo – that schedule given by PRC is just for crowd control. you can register anytime after THAT schedule.
at isa pa po mam rona. u mean anytime after the schedule meaning i can insert in between the schedule po ba? o AFTER lang matapos ung mga dates na inispecified?
@enzo – anytime after THAT schedule.
@neng – jeeps going to UP (yata) or Philcoa.

mam rona how come po di mkakapasok parents namin sa oath taking venue? davao po.posible pala un.no escorts allowed daw. how vain.
maam rona, ung oath form need pa bng panotarized?

@gelatin – read step 4.

@Anonymous – OK lang yun. explain mo na lang doon sa PNA and just present other forms of identification.
i want to know, kahit ba sa PRC lang, naka gala uniform padin???
@KWin – kapag inannounce ng PRC na naka-gala, then dapat naka-gala. so far, wala pa naman sinasabi ang PRC.
Hi mam rona..

@M – they do not take down the attendance during the mass oath-taking ceremony.
@Lady – sorry I have no idea.
