Cardio-Pulmonary Nurse Training Program
Five-week training, designed to equip participants with the knowledge and basic skills necessary to provide treatment and efficient care to pulmonary patients including training in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Electrocardiography (ECG).
Course Objectives
- To perform adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation, rescue breathing and foreign body airway obstruction management.
- Discuss the anatomy and physiology of the lungs.
- Discuss the principles of inhalation therapy, and demonstrate competence in the use of inhalation therapy.
- Discuss the principles of ABG determination.
- Observe ABG extraction and operate the blood gas analyzer.
- Discuss the principles of mechanical ventilation
- Operate and troubleshoot a mechanical ventilator.
- Monitor mechanically ventilated patients
- Discuss pulmonary functioning testing, use its application in diagnosis and monitoring
- Discuss the principles of oximetry and capnography.
Course Content
- Overview of anatomy and physiology of the lungs.
- Principles of inhalation therapy/ABG determination/ mechanical ventilation/oximetry.
- Introduction to mechanical ventilation.
- Airway management.
- Monitoring of mechanically-ventilated patient.
- Pharmacological therapy
- Basic life support, ECG workshop and Advanced Cardiac Life Support trainings.

Intended Participants: Registered Nurses
No. of Participants: 25
Registration fee: PhP 20,000 (requires at least 25% downpayment)
REQUIREMENTS DURING REGISTRATION:
- Photocopy of PRC License
- Resume
- 2 (1×1) pictures
Complete requirements upon registration inclusive of:
- 2 Scrub suits
- 1 laboratory gown
- Meals for lecture days

Yes I’m quite sure you can follow it up in the coming days even after the lectures have started. We just finished the whole course and they’re quite lenient with the requirements. Do take note that this program orients you to the use of mechanical ventilators. You shall not be allowed to handle patients. The program is not that organized to tell you the truth.
