HEART Foundation Inc. PALS Training September – November 2010
The Heart Educational Advancement Research and Training (H.E.A.R.T.) Foundation Inc.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training.
The program on Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) at the Philippine Heart Center was initially incorporated in the ACLS. In November 2006, a group of PALS-trained cardiologists and pulmonologists initialized the PALS program as a separate course with the objective of providing a more extensive to pediatric resuscitation.
The PALS program is a 16-hour course which caters to medical (nurses, medical students, interns and doctors) and paramedical personnel who are interested in furthering their knowledge on pediatric resuscitation.
The course includes lectures on recognition of respiratory Failure and shock, fluid therapy and medications, cardiac rhythm disturbances, trauma and newborn resuscitation, integration of cases and post arrest stabilization.
There are also skill stations on pediatric basic life support, airway and ventilation, and vascular access using state of the art training materials.
There are interactive sessions, which are held to integrate knowledge and skills into a clinically useful discipline.
At the end of this program, each participant is then expected to be competent and knowledgeable in the following:
- Basic Life Support (pediatric CPR, management of foreign body aspiration)
- Pediatric intubation and resuscitation (including newborns)

- Vascular access

i hope that someday you will have trainings that are scheduled during weekends so that us, who are working during weekdays can also attend those trainings.. thank you so much..
@Catty – I only post seminars and training schedules that are set by these training centers. I understand your sentiment. Hopefully they will have weekend schedules soon.
Pwede pa kaya magparegister dito? Kahit nung Sept 2 pa yung Reg date nila?
@Sigrid – not sure. You can call them to ask if they still have slots.
maam is there a NALS training that you’ve heard about?
@paula – haven’t heard of NALS training , yet.
hi mam rona. conflict po kc ung sched ko sa ACLS training this sept 21 becoz of d OATH taking sched @8am. what can u suggest mam. Thanks.
@Carlo – 2 possible options for you:
1. IF you haven’t bought your ticket for the oathtaking yet, you can request PNA to give you the ticket scheduled for the 20th instead of the 21st. I CAN NOT assure that they would allow that but you can try.
2. If no. 1 is not doable, just skip the oathtaking and attend your ACLS training instead. As I have said before, THAT OATH FORM or “Panunumpa ng Propesyonal” Form — when YOU HAVE SIGNED IT, and the “PINUNONG TAGAPANUMPA” and THE “KATUNGKULANG OPISYAL” HAVE SIGNED IT, YOU’VE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN YOUR OATH AS FAR AS PRC’s STANDARDS ARE CONCERNED. It’s really all up to them if they would bother giving that mini-oathtaking ceremony in one of their small rooms.
hi. i’m a newly passed nurse and i curently enrolled in ECG and ACLS training on sept. 21 @ phil heart center. i wonder whether it would be credited as my CPE unit?
@Cynthia – the last time I asked, this training service of Phil. Heart Center is an accredited service provider of CPE. You can ask them if they still are. I will update this when I have find out their PRC-CPE accreditation number.
mam rona, mkukuha n po ba ung license number sa initial registration? para po sa cpe unit ko. ipapasa dw po ung license # sa prc 4 d CPe units.
@Barby – yes makukuha mo na. You can ask them what your license number will be. Or check the claim stub. I think they will write it down there before they give it back to you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
hi mam RONA,accredited CPE provider po b ung hearts training center?
@Barby – yes HEART Foundation is an accredited CPE provider.
Ma’am Rona, how is it possible that the registration date for the November 3-5 is on November 4.
@Mili – good catch Mili. I too am confused about this. If you would check Heart Foundation’s website, that’s what it says too. Hopefully they would update their schedule soon.
hi ms rona! how about NRP? hav you heard about it? tnx
@jae – no I haven’t. I’ll look into it. Thank you.
hi!just wanna ask if you have a PALS training scheduled this coming December 2010?.Thanks.
@syd – will post it here when I get the schedule (if they have one).
