Hi, please verify for us what are the implications if we are not able to attend the oath taking sa SMX… tutal, PRC issues the license and not the PNA, so I was thinking na baka puwedeng di na lang umattend and save myself of all the expenses involved. Thanks.
@Robyn – the only implication that I can see if you won’t attend the mass oathtaking ceremony at the SMX is that… you didn’t have to pay and travel to Pasay just to do your oathtaking. You are correct. PRC issues the license and not the PNA. This mass oathtaking ceremony at the SMX Mall of Asia is NOT MANDATORY, NOT STRICTLY ENFORCED OR COMPULSORY. Pwedeng hindi umattend kung ayaw mo.
Also, iyon mga naka-post na seminars and trainings in your website, can we attend na? Or do they require that we present the PRC ids na? And for each seminar, how many CPE units are their equivalent? Sorry, medyo excited to attend these. Ayaw kong nababakante kasi, feeling ko, sayang iyon oras. Thanks again.
@Robyn – yeah you can attend na some of those seminars and training. I recommend starting with BLS and CPR first cause these training don’t require a PRC license. By the time na tapos ka na sa BLS and CPR, may lisensya ka na nun. If the training that you would want to attend requires your license, usually the claim stub will do.
Hahanapin lang ang pangalan mo then it will be verified with an ID that you have to present.
@she – Yes that’s correct. PNA is the only place where you can buy the tickets for the oathtaking ceremony. UNLESS your school will get those tickets from the PNA for their board exam passers.
@mhae – The PNA is only open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
slamat po mam rona….
@mhae – You’re welcome.
Any ID will do. Your school ID will do.
thanks maam!
pwede po mag ask,how about po the schedule for LA union oathtaking po,,where po kami pwede kumuha ng tickets
Sa male inductee, your regular white uniform during duty will do.
@Anj – pwede ka ng magfile for initial registration according to your surname: http://www.philippinenursingdirectory.com/2010/09/01/prc-initial-registration-schedule-for-new-rn-metro-manila-and-pampanga/
@lea – wala pang schedule ng oathtaking ang ibang region. i’ll post it here as soon as it comes out. Check back often.
mam pwede po bang di na sumabay sa school for the oath taking? like if the school wanted to have theirs’ at the 20th pero I’d like to have mine on the 21st… would that be possible? it’s so nice of you to keep us (excited nurses) informed
thank you!!
@jeah – the tickets are sold according to what school you are from. It is possible that you can not join your school though. That is if PNA will allow you to buy a ticket other than what school/schedule you are supposed to be in. You can try to say that you can’t really go on this date and prefer to go on the other day instead. Baka madala sa pakiusap, hehe. Good luck!
Just make sure that you will give the person who will buy the tickets for you your ID. Any valid ID will do.
Attending the mass oathtaking at the SMX is not compulsory. Walang bayad doon.
Good pm po!
20 or 21) and TIME (AM or PM) ng oathtaking ng different schools. 20, P.M. session. Ganun ang mangyayari.
Salamt po Ate Rona
Big Help po. Pupunta nalang po kami doon bukas (:
@Toothfairy – you’re welcome
They only started selling it today kasi.
No need for any kind of letter. Your oathtaking DATE and TIME will depend on what school you are from. You can call PNA and ask them your schools schedule: 521-0937.
@pauline – Actually, you are supposed to take your oath before registering. So yes, pwede.
Will be very grateful for your answer ^_^
Pwede ka magregister at mag oathtaking anytime after the initial registration schedule that the PRC has released for the new R.N.’s.
after oath taking pa po ba aasikasuhin ung registration?
13 to Sept. 17.
This situation proves that you can take your oath at the PRC office too because the PRC and BON has set a schedule that allows registration before the mass oathtaking that they organized.
@Jay – yes pwede ka umattend sa mass oathtaking sa SMX convention provided that the PNA office will be able to sell you tickets. The tickets are reserved to schools in NCR and nearby provinces but ticket-selling is on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
“September 20, AM schedule – will be sold until September 17, 5:00 P.M.”
That is kung hindi pa siya ubos by that time.
Maybe the PNA/PRC/BON suddenly decided to allow just 1 guest per inductee. Anybody else have gone to the PNA and bought tickets? Please post your feedback here. I will call PNA to clarify this.
Thank you po, ma’am Rona n_n
thanks po mam rona for answering my questions…God Bless you!
@kayealihan – you’re welcome again
I bought a ticket yesterday, i waited for about 6hrs outside the PNA bldg, andami kcng tao, pang 1000+ pa aq, and they only served 1,200 yesterday. 1 inductee (350) and 1 guest (200) lng ang ticket which cost 550 + 400 for the membership if you like to become a member of PNA and it is valid until oct. 31 2011. =D
So what’s the deal now? Are they allowing 2 guests or 1 na lang per inductee?
I am glad that PNA has finally changed their membership scheme. It is really unfair naman kasi kung expired na kaagad sa December 2010 ang membership mo kahit nagbayad ka ng 1-year membership fee of 400.
Sayang nman kc gumastos na din aq pagpunta dun eh kya inantay q n lng. Hehe… 1inductee=1guest lng daw eh.
@Matie – alright thanks for informing me regarding the guests allowed per inductee. I guess they did change the number of guests that are allowed. Sabi kasi kahapon 2 daw. Ngayon isa na lang. Kakalito na sila, ha! Hehe. Dami tuloy naguguluhan.
GOOD afternoon, for those who are concerned. are there any liabilities or any disadvantages kung hndi po pupunta sa oath taking? I’d rather save the money i could spend there and use for the registrations and some memberships/trainings.
@Different nurse – According to R.A. 9173 or the “Philippine Nursing Act of 2002″ ARTICLE IV Section 16:
It means that new R.N.’s are mandated by the law to take an oath. However, that doesn’t mean that the mass oathtaking ceremony on Sept. 20 and 21 at the SMX is the only way that you can take your oath. You do not need to pay 350 pesos just to take an oath. You can do your oathtaking at the PRC and you do not have to pay for it. The 600 pesos Initial Registration Fee that you will pay at the PRC will cover for that.
hi po mam Rona, ask ko lang kung ano ba talaga mauuna, is it the INITIAL REGISTRATION o yung OATH TAKING, medyo naguluhan kasi ako.
Salamat po.
@Joui – Ideally, dapat mag-oathtaking muna bago mag initial registration.
Case in point, initial registration dates na September 13 to 17. Those dates are before the September 20 to 21 mass oathtaking ceremony.
My point is, huwag mo ng problemahin kung alin ang mauuna o susunod mong gawin. Just register to the PRC on your scheduled date of registration and attend the oathtaking. I don’t see any issue what you should do or not do first.
Whew! Anybody else agree with me?
I agree maam Rona.hehe.napakaswerte po nmin at lagi ka pong nanjan at always ready to answer our questions in contrast kpag 2mawag kpa sa PNA or PRC I guess nde nla kya yung ginagawa mo na ientertain kming lhat ng sbay2.dba?
Thanks ulit for all the answers.alam mo nman kasi kming mga beginner mejo maraming tanong.hehe.kya pgpasensiyahan nio na po kmi maan ha.sna nanjan ka lng po till mlinawan kming lhat.TYSM.
@Dave, RN – Hehe how I wish PRC, PNA and BON would come up with a more efficient way to disseminate information most especially during times like these. I understand your dilemma. I’ll try to help as much as I can.
@an – No information yet on that one.
@Dave, RN – Read this for supplemental information regarding PRC Ever-Recto: “PRC SERVICE CENTER OPENS AT EVER GOTESCO MANILA PLAZA ON OCTOBER 2, 2008”. In short, extension office ng PRC yan.
so pde din po ba kming jan mgpaprocess for registration?
You will just have to wait to find out on your registration date.
considering na mas mabilis siguro ang processing sa ever based on the description itself compare to PRC morayta,
ok maam.I guess I will be heading out to PRC morayta then.Tnx again.
How is it possible that oathtaking can be done at the PRC, you mean when you fill up and sign the “panunumpa ng propesyonal” form, is another means of Oathtaking?
@confused – oathtaking can be done at the PRC if you can’t attend the mass oathtaking in SMX. Either that or they will schedule another mass oathtaking ceremony in some other time.
Filling-out the Oath Form = Signing an Oath
Attending the mass oathtaking in SMX = Being present in the oathtaking ceremony
Correct, you can just wait for your day to register at the PRC kasabay ng pagpasa/pagfile ng “Panunumpa ng Propesyonal” or Oath form.
@confused let me answer that confusion of yours.panunumpa ng propesyonal and oath taking is 2 different things.panu2mpa ng propesyonal is the initial registration to claim ones licence.if you want to save your from not attenting the oath taking to SMX which we all know is an extravagance, then you can take your oath at the PRC morayta in assigned rooms.tama po ba miss Rona?just want to help and hope that helped.
@Dave, RN – thank you for helping me out. I just want to correct you though, hehe. “Panunumpa ng Propesyonal” and Oath taking are one and the same. “Panunumpa ng Propesyonal” or Oath taking is an ACT wherein you SWEAR IN that you will uphold your profession (Registered Nurse) blah blah (just read whatever is in the oath form). You are correct about doing the oathtaking at the SMX — it is an extravagance. Which I have nothing against of, mind you. I won’t be posting it here if I am so disapproving of that ceremony at the SMX. I am just saying that there is an option for some nurses who do not want to spend 350 pesos and more just to be able to take an oath.
Like what Dave said, you can take your oath in PRC’s rooms if you do not want a big ceremony just like in SMX. As to where, how or when will PRC do it, I do not know.
Thanks Mam Rona, super.
God bless. ^_^
@Joui – you’re welcome.
So, you can register for your license without going to SMX and just sign the oath form at PRC office. The mass oath taking is just for show and not really necessary. Correct??
@confused – That is the blunt way of saying it, yes.
Major major salamat to Rona.
@confused – you’re welcome.
