Aesculap Academy CRRT Training Program
Course Description:
This is a five-day intensive program which provides technical skills, nursing management, and knowledge to handle and trouble-shoot CRRT machines.
The program is comprised of up-to-date lectures and interactive sessions. Quizzes will be conducted after each topic to measure comprehension and fill identified knowledge gaps. A case study and competency check list round up the program.

Target group:
Registered nurses who wish to pursue a career in CRRT patient care and interested in achieving basic competency in operating and trouble-shooting CRRT machines
Course Objectives:
At the end of the five day program, participants will be able to:
1. Competently carry out the procedures and follow doctor’s prescription independently;
2. Take responsibility to handle and trouble shoot CRRT machines and eventually fix problems;
3. Fill flow sheets and calculate hourly and cumulative net fluid balance;
4. Identify and manage problems and complications associated with CRRT procedures;
5. Understand CRRT circuit and access;
6. Monitor different pressures; and,
7. Understand coagulation

I. Physiology & Pathology of the Kidneys
II. Vascular Access
III. Acid Base Balance
IV. Indications of Acute Renal Failure
V. Introduction to CRRT
VI. Indications, Transport Mechanisms, Membrane Types and Characteristics, Technical Aspects
