Nursing and HRM are still the top students’ choices in college
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) said that Nursing and Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) are still the top college degrees preferred by incoming college students this school year.
Despite reports of dwindling demand for nurses in other countries, CHED chairman Emmanuel Angeles said that young people would continue choosing Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Hotel and Restaurant Management courses. Read more…

H-1B Specialty Occupation Visas

H-1B visas are temporary employment based visas. The most common H-1B visa is the specialty occupation visa. This H-1B visa requires that the immigrant have at minimum a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in a field related to the occupation for which they are being petitioned. In addition, the occupation itself must require a bachelor’s degree or greater.
What this means is that it is not enough for the immigrant to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but that the position should also normally require a bachelor’s degree to perform the duties of that position.
